What is Jill's background?A bit about me: My name is Jill. I was born in a small farm town in southwest Iowa. When I was very young, my family moved to Houston, TX, so I consider myself a native Texan and Houston is my home. I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas... and that's when I knew that Austin was the city for me. I graduated with honors from The University of Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Learning and Development, EC-6 and ESL. In 2018, I became a first-time mom, and I quit my job as a school teacher at Bridge Point Elementary, where I was in my seventh year teaching first grade. Since then, I launched Jill's Tutors, leveraging my university and school network of educators, trainers, parents, students, and more! While I miss teaching tremendously, I love the wide reach of children and families I'm able to help with Jill's Tutors.

What is the process for getting matched with a tutor? As soon as you think your child may benefit from tutoring, feel free to reach out and give me a call. We'll have a brief chat about your needs, and I'll send you a follow-up questionaire (super simple) to get the specifics on your and your child's needs. After I get your questionaire, we'll personally match you with one of our pre-vetted, qualified independent contractor tutors. We'll have a follow-up call and set up a date and time to get started. I will provide you with your tutor's contact information and you can begin reaching out to schedule. If you prefer a quick phone call or meeting first, we can schedule that, too. Once we huddle and hurrah, tutoring can begin on your schedule. You'll work directly with your tutor to confirm times, cancellations, reschedules, etc.

How much does tutoring cost?Tutoring tends to average around $44-55 per hour, depending on the number of hours. Clients can choose to pay-as-you-go at an individual rate. After the first lesson, if you decide to purchase a discount bundle, we will happily apply the cost of the first lesson toward the total bundle cost. Clients can also chooose to go with one of our Discounted Bundles. All bundles are hourly packages (10 hours, 15 hours, 20 hours, 30 hours), to be used according to your own desired schedule. The larger the bundle, the greater the discount. Helpful Tips: Here's the rhyme and reason on pricing. The school year is approximately 36 weeks. If you want tutoring one hour, once per week for the entire school year, the 30-hour bundle should cover you. If you want tutoring every other week for one hour, the 15-hour bundle should cover you. The 10-hour bundle is great for helping kids through trouble spots. And the 20-hour bundle is available should you pick up tutoring in the middle of the year. If you want specific pricing for your needs, or a custom package, please reach out. We're more than happy to work with you and can be flexible according to your needs.
